The festival will begin on August 4, 2023, and run through October 9, 2023. The event lasts for eighty days.

Kerala Aranmula Vallasadya Festival 2023

In the midst of extensive security preparations, the season of Aranmula Vallasadya, a special ritualistic feast connected to the Onam celebrations at the Aranmula Sree Parthasarathy temple, began ceremonially. Despite the bad weather, hundreds of worshippers flocked to this temple to attend the event, which is being celebrated with utmost fervor after a two-year hiatus brought on by the pandemic.

By sunrise, the crew of seven snake boats (palliyodam) arrived at the temple ghats on their boats and had a boisterous welcome. As per custom, the crew was given tobacco, areca nuts, and betel leaves before being led to the temple grounds. The rowers sang Vanchippattu, verses praising Lord Krishna, while they circled the shrine.

President of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) K. Ananthagopan inaugurated the ceremonial feast while President of the Nair Service Society (NSS) M. Sasikumar lit the ceremonial lamp to begin the event. The Palliyoda Seva Sanghom’s president, K.S. Rajan, presided. The Pathanamthitta district administration had deployed sophisticated security measures along the riverside due to the Pampa’s rising water level.

People who wish to visit the festival should note that the bookings are available at Panchajanya, the church Seva Sangh Office which is near the eastern entrance of the temple.
Please note that Palliyoda Seva Sangham Secretary Parthasarathy has mentioned that more than 300 people have already made their registration for their booking.
The online booking procedure is not yet available and thus the booking can be placed at the office that is mentioned above.
Also please note that the payment for the big booking has to be made in advance only as there are already many bookings done.
Please note that there is no other method for booking and there is only a single counter for booking.
After the Aranmula Vallasadya Online Booking process is complete you will be provided with an entry pass and as a spectator of the festival, you have to carry your pass at all times.
