The Uttar Pradesh Government has launched the UP Mukhyamantri Khet Suraksha Yojana 2023 to protect the crops of the state’s farmers from stray animals. This scheme has been announced by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi AadityaNath on 20th July 2023. Due to stray cattle in UP, the crops of the farmers get ruined a lot. To protect crops from animals, farmers put electricity wires around the field, which causes a lot of damage to animals and injures them. To remove this problem, the government has adopted the solar fencing scheme.
Under this scheme, solar fencing wires will be used around the fields, in which only a 12-volt current will be given, due to which the animals will get an electric shock but they will not be harmed. For this scheme, the government will give a grant of RS 1.43 lakh per hectare to small marginal farmers. The UP Government had passed a budget of RS 75 crore for this scheme but later the budget was increased to RS 350 crore. This scheme is currently implemented in Bundelkhand, soon a draft of this scheme will be sent to the central government and this scheme will be launched in the entire state.
